Journalist Ksenija Pavlovic McAteer has shared that a national Bitcoin reserve strategy is expected to be unveiled at this event, based on information from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Bitcoin and Other Cryptos Differently Treated
According to the report, Lutnick stated that Bitcoin would be treated differently than other cryptocurrencies in the reserve. This could significantly impact the market if confirmed.
The Digital Working Group, including David Sacks and Secretary Lutnick, was tasked by the President to develop a digital asset stockpile framework. This framework, expected to be completed within six months, aims to establish a legally grounded reserve that extends beyond the current administration.
Who’s Invited?
Among the attendees reported by Fox Business journalist Eleanor Teanor are Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Strategy founder Michael Saylor. Other invitees include representatives from MultiCoin Capital, World Liberty Financials, and Chainlink.
Kraken’s Arjun Sethi, Robinhood’s Vlad Tenev, and Paradigm CEO Matt Huang were also invited. Matt Huang confirmed his participation, vowing to champion for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana builders during the meeting.
As of now, there is no official confirmation of Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, attending the event. However, Garlinghouse has stated that he would advocate for multi-coin crypto reserves, including XRP, at the summit.
