Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the US Presidency, has reportedly raised over $4 million from a mix of digital assets including Bitcoin, according to the latest reports coming from CNBC.
Contributors to his campaign have reportedly donated, BTC, ETH, XRP, and USDC, along with various meme coins, says a Federal Election Commission filing.
CNBC also noted that the 1,000-plus page report shows the totals for the Trump 47 joint fundraising committee from April 1 to June 30.
According to official data, the committee raised more than $118 million during this period, with payouts going to the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee, and other parties, according to the filing.
Donors have reportedly contributed over $2.15 million in BTC to the committee. Contributors come from 12 states, and their professions reportedly include homemaker, US military officer, missionary, painter, sales rep for a pizza company, and a security technician with the State Dept.
It’s also worth noting that crypto billionaire twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss led the charge, each contributing with 15.157 Bitcoins, or over $1 million at the prices from the time of donation.
Brian Hughes, a Trump campaign aide, said that of the $4 million in crypto that has been raised by the campaign most of the funds arrived in BTC.
Crypto innovators and others in the technology sector are under attack from Kamala Harris and the Democrats, he said, cited by CNBC.
He continued and said that while the Biden-Harris Administration stifles innovation with more regulation and higher taxes, Trump is ready to encourage leadership in this and other emerging technologies.
Trump to Speak at The Bitcoin Conference
This Saturday, Trump will reportedly speak at The Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. CNBC also noted that he will also host a campaign fundraiser in the city on the same day.
Trump has been showing his increased support for the crypto sector, especially during 2024.
Recently, following a meeting at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida with about a dozen Bitcoin mining executives, Trump declared that all future Bitcoin will be minted in the US, if he comes back to the White House.
Regarding Bitcoin‘s price today, the coin is trading above $67,000 amidst strong political support.
