Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has recently increased its Bitcoin holdings by purchasing an additional 150 BTC.
The firm bought each Bitcoin at an average price of ¥12.5 million ($83,611).
This acquisition is part of Metaplanet’s ongoing efforts to expand its Bitcoin Treasury Operations.
Metaplanet’s Bitcoin Investments
As of now, Metaplanet’s Bitcoin investments total 3,200 BTC.
This is equivalent to over $266 million, based on current market prices.
Bitcoin’s value has seen a minor dip of 0.24% in the last 24 hours, and is currently trading at $83,323.
However, despite this slight dip, Bitcoin’s value has risen by 3.5% in the past week.
On the other hand, its monthly performance shows a downward trend, with a 14% fall in the past month.
Metaplanet’s Performance and Future Plans
Metaplanet’s Bitcoin yield per share grew by 309.8% in Q4 2024.
From January 1 to March 18, 2025, Metaplanet’s yield rose from 53.2% to 60.8%, compared to the previous purchase on March 12.
Metaplanet recently issued ¥2 billion worth of ordinary bonds to EVO FUND.
This marks the company’s ninth issuance of ordinary bonds.
The firm intends to use the funds from the bond issuance to buy more Bitcoin.
Despite the bond issuance, Metaplanet’s shares fell by 0.5% to a price of ¥4,030, according to Google Finance.
Since April 2024, Metaplanet has been gradually increasing its Bitcoin holdings following the launch of its Bitcoin Treasury Operations.
Often referred to as the “Asian Strategy”, Metaplanet has been steadily growing its Bitcoin holdings.
Since it began buying Bitcoin in April 2024, Metaplanet’s stock price has seen an increase of more than 3,000%.
